Matthew’s Portrayal of Jesus as the New Moses.

From a recent study. Compare the accounts of Jesus’ birth and ministry to that of Moses. Keeping in mind that Moses is only explicitly named 7 times in Matthew, it is very interesting that the two lives seem so similar.  The second slide shows some of the very significant differences between the life of Moses and that of Jesus. The fulfillment of the Old Testament law, and the authority of Moses being subjected to the authority of Christ is an important theme in Matthew.
